Fire in the open – Meldreth - South Cambs

At 7.55pm on Friday (17) crews were called to a fire on Malton Lane in Meldreth.

Crews from Gamlingay, Cambridge, Cambourne and Cottenham, along with a crew from Royston in Hertfordshire, attended the incident.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a combine harvester that had spread to around five acres of farmland. They extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 11.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
